I save all our eggshells through the Winter to scatter around the bases of those plants vulnerable to a slug attack like lupins, hostas and salvias. Apparently slugs don’t like to slither over the crushed eggshell but it is only one prong in my arsenal of defences against the slug! I was too late in scattering the eggshells for the poor lupin in the second picture which has been devoured but I’ve scattered them anyway to hopefully, give the plant a chance to recover.
