Six on Saturday Bursts into Life

How hard is it to pick just six images this week from the garden, I could pick sixty six as everything is spectacularly bursting into life!

The long awaited Ferns have finally, completely unfurled and oh my, they are simply majestic! Every year I wait for their splendour and am never disappointed! They are so happy that they are spreading around the garden and happy plants colonising spaces is always welcome!

Another welcome return to the garden is always the Azalea, blooming and bursting forth in all the pink loveliness it can muster – it is always spectacular!

You may have thought you’d seen the last of my Tulips but I always hold back some bulb planting until early Spring in order to extend the season of interest of Tulips and finally, these double Tulips Blue Spectacle have popped up. They make a delicious forerunner to the Purple Alliums which are teetering on the verge or bursting!

This is the first time ever for the Choisya Sundance to bloom! It has been in the ground for three or four years and I love it as an evergreen. I had just assumed that it was never going to flower and boom, just when I had stopped looking for the flowers, they appear: small, white, delicate and pretty!

And here come my babies, my gorgeous Lupins, one of my top six favourite flowers! They just complete the garden for me – be prepared, they will feature in a lot of my posts!

My final pick for this week is the germinating Spinach seeds! As gardeners, we get so much joy from seeing seeds germinate and sometimes in the busyness of the garden, it is nice to take a moment to remember that feeling, that moment of pure pleasure and of the promise to come!

Do feel free to me leave a comment on these six and enjoy reading other #SixonSaturday blogs for information and inspiration from gardeners around the world sharing six things from their garden on a Saturday. #SixonSaturday is hosted by The Propagator, and you’ll find lots of links on Twitter on the #SixonSaturday hashtag.
