If you’ve worked hard to grow your own potatoes this year, you need to store them properly to ensure they do not rot.
Dig out your potatoes on a dry day and don’t wash off the soil: just gently shake or rub it off if you need to. If you wash, then store potatoes, the damp skin can lead to them rotting.
Potatoes are best kept in a dark, cool, dry place like a shed or garage and off the ground in case you have any friendly visitors. Wash just before you cook them…and enjoy your tatties from plot to plate!
