It’s a Succulent Six on Saturday!

I’m a new convert to succulents, proving that an old dog really can learn new tricks as I think I might be falling in love with these low maintenance lovelies! My younger self thought them quite ugly but now, wisened by experience, I look upon their myriad textures and forms as something of beauty and sophistication.

Such was my excitement at a bit of indoor gardening this week after my purchase of a few more succulents and in my haste to get them all re-potted into the right compost, I have forgotten to note which gorgeous one was which! So, for this week’s #SixonSaturday, it’s a game of ‘Who Can Name the Succulent?’

Round One can be multiple choice! The following three succulents are one of the following: Haworthia Lymifolia, Crassula Ovata or Haworthia Pentagonia. Can you match the name to the succulent?

Succulent No. 1
Succulent No. 2
Succulent No. 3

Round Two, you are playing blind. Can you name any or all of these three succulents?

Succulent No. 4
Succulent No. 5
Succulent No. 6

Now we have our six, I’ll tell you in a post next week why I’m falling in love with these happy-go-lucky houseplants and maybe inspire you to grow a few. Sure, inspiring each other to grow more and varied plants is what it’s all about for our pleasure, our health, our well-being and ultimately, our sustainability on the planet.

I look forward to your Succulent Quiz answers in the comments and enjoy reading other #SixonSaturday blogs for information and inspiration – you’ll find them posted on The Propagator’s Blog and on Twitter on the #SixonSaturday hashtag. 1. OK, I’m going to take the plunge. The first three are in the order you give the names. 4 is an Aloe, not sure which, arborescens, camperi, ferox and vera all seemed contenders. 5 I don’t know and can’t find a good match for, Haworthia seems the most likely. Six I think is Aloe variegata though it’s usually much stockier. Please don’t think I know what I’m talking about, I don’t. I just happen to have a couple of books on succulents.
