Six on a Frosty Saturday

On a Saturday, gardeners from around the world share six things from their garden in their blogs and on social media. It’s a great way to see over the fence of what is going on in other people’s gardens. This week in both the frost and the snow, the garden absolutely sparkled! My #SixonSaturday this week from my garden is a white one!

This is one of my favourite shots from this week: the sun caught dancing on the frost-covered leaves of the Brussel Sprouts!

I don’t often get up and close and personal with a Choisya as this Choisya Ternata has never flowered but the frost covering really allows the evergreen leaves to be noticed in their perfect, symmetrical shape.

On my last #SixonaSaturday, I featured a Hebe Little Red Rum and so many people messaged to comment on the burgundy leaves that I thought it worth featuring again.

Sarcococca Confusa is a lovely evergreen which sits right by my back door. It prefers moist soil but does well in sun or shade so it’s perfect right where it is. A little covering of frost and it positively glitters!

This picture really made me smile as the snow lying on the Hydrangea Paniculata Silver Dollar looks exactly like the white blossoms that spring forth from it in late Summer.

Maybe you’d like to see how much snow we had this week in Glasgow delicately balancing on the leaves of the Prunus Novita! Unfortunately, it didn’t last long and we just had heavy frost and icy patches for the rest of the week. Roll on the next fall of snow as the garden looks fantastic under a blanket of white!
